        An excerpt from "Roman Catholic Clergy in St. Munchin's Parish"

        John Conway attended Maynooth and was ordained in the Presentation Convent, Limerick, on 23 July 1876 . After ordination he served in Eskra in the diocese if Clogher , until 27 September 1877 when he was appointed C.C. of Templeglantine . On 22 October 1878 he took up curacy duties in Tournafulla until 19 April 1880. After brief periods in Manister and Parteen parishes, he was transferred to Knockaderry in June 1881 and remained there until 6 May 1884 when he was appointed to Glenroe . 0n 5 March 1887 he took up curacy duties in Glin and the following September was transferred to Croom . In 1892 he was appointed C.C. of Effin until 2 April 1895 when he took up duties in St. Munchin's parish, succeeding Fr. Bresnahan. In 1903 he was transferred to Croagh-Kilfinny and remained there until 23 June 1908 when he returned to Tournafulla . On 11 October 1918 he was traneferred to Bulgaden-Martinstown and the following February was appointed P.P. of Mahoonagh where he remained until his death on 12 September 1929. He was a nephew of Fr. John Conway who was P.P. of Feenagh-Kilmeedy from 1877 until 1898. Three of his first cousins, John, another John, and Patrick also served as priests in the diocese, with Patrick being P.P. of Glenroe-Ballyorgan at the time of his death in 1931.
